Service Notice: 1912 Fire Hydrant Replacement on N. Grant St.

MAWSA will be replacing a century-old leaking hydrant on North Grant Street on Tuesday, April 7. Expect brief water service interruptions between 9 AM and 2 PM.

Service

  • Location: North Grant St (West Gramby to West Colebrook)
  • Duration: 9 AM – 2 PM
  • Water Service: Water will be briefly shut off during the final installation phase (estimated 1–2 hours).

Preparation

  • Do not plan for laundry, baths or showers during this window
  • Store a few gallons of water in advance for drinking and flushing.

Why?

This hydrant has served the Manheim community for over 110 years. By replacing this 1912 model, MAWSA is preventing water loss and ensuring reliable fire protection for North Grant Street residents.
