Real-Time Leak Detection
The most significant benefit of AquaHawk is its ability to identify “silent” leaks (like a running toilet or a pinhole pipe leak) before they result in a massive bill.
- Automatic Alerts: Customers can set the system to send an email, text, or phone call if usage exceeds a certain limit.
- Continuous Flow Notification: AquaHawk flags accounts where water is running 24/7, even at a low volume, which almost always indicates a leak.
This customer will receive an alert if they exceed 100 gallons in a day.
This business will receive an alert if they exceed 100 gallons in an hour.
Near Real Time Usage Tracking
Unlike traditional monthly billing where you only see your total at the end of the 30-day cycle, AquaHawk provides a granular view.
Visual Graphs
See exactly how much water you used at 2:00 PM versus 2:00 AM.
Pinpoint Activity
If you have a high bill, you can look back at the data to see if it corresponds with a specific event, like filling a pool or a guest staying over.
Cost Control & Budgeting
AquaHawk helps take the “sticker shock” out of the monthly bill.
Projected Bills
The system uses your current usage patterns to estimate what your next bill could be. Click below to see what your bill could look like if your use pattern stays the same.
Threshold Alerts
You can set a dollar-amount threshold. For example: “Notify me if my bill looks like it will reach $200.00.” This feature allows you to adjust your habits if your use not trending the way you would prefer.
Remote Monitoring
This feature is particularly valuable for “Snowbirds,” landlords, or residents who travel frequently.
Vacation Peace of Mind
You can check your property’s water status from anywhere in the world.
Multi-Property Management
Landlords can see usage across all their accounts in a single dashboard to ensure tenants don’t have unreported leaks.
Environmental & System Stability
By helping customers find leaks early, we reduce the amount of treated water that is wasted.
Conservation
Knowledge is power; seeing your hourly use often encourages small habit changes that lead to lower bills and a smaller environmental footprint.
How to Access These Benefits
It is important to recognize that AquaHawk is an “Opt-In” service. Even after the new meter is installed, the customer must register at mawsa.aquahawk.us to unlock these features. Staff can push manual alerts, but this would only happen during business hours when a staff member can be made available.
Required for Registration: Customer Account Number (on the top ban of your monthly statement).

Case Studies
Success Story
Customer receives notification and acts fast. They find that their water softener is recirculating off schedule and bypass it. The malfunction is caught so early that there is no impact to their average bill.
Cautionary Tales
This location set a threshold with no dollar or gallon values, so no alert was pushed out. Thankfully staff was able to alert them after the weekend.
This location ignored their first few alerts…. And yes, it was a toilet.
Not so fun fact – our fastest recorded leaky toilet was clocked on South Main Street at 6 gallons per minute. (That’s 360 gallons per hour or 8,640 per day!)
Okay, so I have an alert… now what?
Start from the meter. With an active leak, the meter numbers will be going up. If it goes up from 1 to 2, that is a gallon. Turn off one fixture and check the meter again. If the number is still going, leave that fixture off – turn off another fixture, and check the meter again. Repeat this process until the meter stop. The last thing you turned off to get the meter to stop is the “big bad” causing you trouble.
If your meter is not advancing it is something more tricksy. Think water softener or toilet flapper. A water softener can be bypassed for a few days to see if use spikes stop. Toilets can be dye tested in the tank, and shut off to test the fill valve.
