Final Paving Announcement
The MAWSA staff will be meeting with the Contractor tomorrow 5/27 to review all Punch list items for final restoration in the various locations where the water improvements were made. Their crews are expected to clean up all items early in the week beginning 5/31. This has taken a long time, but your patience has allowed us to maximize the value of the grant received to support this improvement.
Now that the weather has finally turned for the better, we are nearing completion of the major water main replacement project from last year. There are three primary areas of focus that our contractor will be working on:
- Final Paving of South Main Street from the bridge over Chiques Creek south to the end of the work area. COMPLETED
- Mill and Paving of West Ferdinand Street from South Main Street to South Grant Street. COMPLETED
- A “punch list” of various restoration and touch-up items in each of the areas worked on last year. Many of these were items that were either not addressed, were only partially handled or some where the earlier work has deteriorated. Through the end of May.
