Notice: These products should not go into the toilet or down the drain. These products cause the Manheim Area the following issues:
- Private residents home plumbing problems, blockages in public sewer pipes resulting in sewer backups into homes creating a health risk due to increased levels of bacteria and disease-causing pathogens.
- Backups can cause costly damage to private residents’ homes and infrastructure which includes sewage lines and pumps at the wastewater treatment plant.
- These products may claim to be biodegradable, however, they do not break down as fast or efficiently as toilet paper.
- Grease, fats, and oils can solidify and adhere to the inside of sewer pipes eventually causing build-ups that restrict or clog the flow of wastewater.
Clean water begins at home with proper disposal of wipes, grease, and other materials. Only flush toilet paper and human waste. Thank you for doing your part to help keep Manheim’s streets and streams free of unnecessary sewer overflows.
