Meter Replacement Project Update

Attention

If you are a MAWSA customer and still have not had your water meter/transmitter replaced this message is for you.

You are one of the last 7% of homes in the service area who has not yet had their water meter/transmitter replaced.

This project was financed in part by a $1,000,000 grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority.  The project started in fall of 2022 due to supply chain issues with approximately 50% of citizens on estimated reads.  Our installer Kentrel, Inc. has been reaching out to all customers at the phone numbers we have on record and scheduling the replacement appointments at your properties free of charge to you.  After progressing through the project and nearing completion, it is critical that we get your property scheduled and replacements completed.

If you have not yet been contacted, it is possible that your phone number is out of date in our system, so it is important to keep that information up to date to receive other types of notifications about service-related communications.

In any event, please contact Kentrel at 800-437-9200 or call the MAWSA office at 717-665-2737 and choose option 7 to schedule your meter replacement appointment.

The outgoing meter reading system has been decommissioned.  If you do not have a new meter and a new radio, you will be billed based on estimated usage. This is an average of your last 4 statements.

If there are any questions, please contact MAWSA at 717.665.2737 or on-line at mawsa.org/contact-us.

Estimated Readings

If your meter has yet to be replaced and you’ve had estimated readings for a long time and believe your household conditions may have changed your usage pattern, please email, or use the contact us page here, or drop off a description of the household change in the payment slot at our office to have your account reviewed. It is most likely that we will need a month or two on the new meter to compare, so please do not delay your installation or estimation review request.
