MAWSA was recently awarded two PA State grants for Water and Sewer system improvements.

The System-wide Meter Replacement Project commenced in late 2022 and was initially funded by MAWSA.  The project was subsequently awarded a Local Share Account Grant of up to $1,000,000 for the remainder of the project financed by Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority.

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority also awarded a Local Share Account Grant in the amount of $880,993 for a Sewer Reconditioning Project that will run along the south side of the borough and ending up near the high school to the east which will reduce inflow and infiltration to the main sewer lines collecting wastewater and delivering to the Wastewater Plant.
